THE REAL TRUTH ABOUT PRODUCTIVITY.

I’m going to tell you a little secret that most leaders don’t know or are too scared to believe.

You need to slow down to speed up.

I first read this in a Steve Chandler book. It resonated with me because it went against everything I had heard in business.

I was taught to produce more, speed up and then speed up again, become more productive and increase output over and over. As a leader, part of my role was to inspire and encourage others to do the same.

More, more and more.

This is a fallacy.

It’s wrong. It’s not only not how our brain operates, it’s bad for our mental, spiritual and physical well-being, keeps us operating in habitual patterns and takes away much of the joy and purpose in our work. We become addicts to the adrenalin rush.

The reality is that we must slow down to recognize opportunities.

We must slow down to tap into our higher creativity.

We must slow down to have insights.

We must slow down to prioritize.

We must slow down to inspire.

We must slow down to connect.

We must slow down to move with intention.

We must slow down to understand challenges.

We must slow down to lead.

We must slow down to speed up.
